GourmetKickz Creator Tutorial
To help you navigate the GourmetKickz Creator I have roughed up the following tutorial. Forgive the crudeness. I am literally doing this at midnight just before launch writing this because  I realize the Creator is a powerful, intricate tool that has some in depth logic governing it.

Below is screen shot of the Design Your Kicks page of www.gourmetkickzcreator.com . Here you can take advantage of the control panel on the left to thoroughly customize the  Nike AF1 Low on the right using ChefLogic and 3D rotation through 720 degrees. The Design Your Kicks page can be broken down into 7 very specific areas:
1. Control Panel - customize your kickz using these controls and options
2. Panel Selector Wheel -
select which area of the sneaker you want to work on
3. Nike AF1 Low 3D Render -
see a real-time realistic 3D render of your design
4. Option Panel -
Purchase your design, Save it to the gallery, or Start Over
5. Sneaker Rotation Slider - 720 Degree Capable -
see every angle of your design
6. Price Counter - Real Time Calculation -
keep track of your budget
7. Navigation -
view the Gallery, come back to Design or visit GourmetKickz.com click image for large screen shot

Now let's talk about each part of the Design Your Kickz page in detail to get you started. When you load the Design Your Kickz Page the AF1 is automatically blank with heel logos turned ON. Note that each part of the shoe that is customizable is labelled on the Panel Selector Wheel (2). You will recognize some of the names of panels, while others may be new. Here is a brief glossary of the parts of the AF1 to help you identify what areas you can customize:
Swoosh- Nike's trademark logo, I think you know what this is
Heel- The back part of the shoe where you see logos upon loading the KickzCreator
Quarter Panel - Some people call this the middle or center, basically this is the 4 sided rhombus-like shaped panel that sits directly under the end of the swoosh
Toebox - I think everyone knows this one, this is where all the creases generally happen (unless you are using my DeCreaseR ha!)
Frontal - I have heard some people refer to this as the vamp or simply front. This is the panel that surrounds the toebox and frames the very front of the sneaker
Lining- This is self explanatory, it's the sockliner and when you select the lining everything on the inside of the sneaker gets dyed, including the backside of the tongue and the tongue piping!
Midsole- This of course is the part of the rubber that does not come into contact with the ground. When you add a Treatment to the midsole, you are acutally colorizing just the stitching.
Laces- Duhhh
Air Logo- Duhhh
Eyestay- I have heard this area called the lacestay or the top. This is the U-shaped panel that cradles the tongue and holds the laces.
Now let's talk about the outer ring on the Panel Selector Wheel, some of these names you may have never heard. The names correspond to methods of construction practiced here at GourmetKickz and are part of the ChefLogic method of customization. The outer ring also contains selectors for the 1800 Logo and the Essential Logo.
Seamless Rear (Heel & Quarter Panel) - This is the area resulting from combining the heel and quarter panel when overlaying fabric to these areas as 1 piece, hence "seamless rear".
Horshoe (Frontal & Quarter Panel)- This is the area resulting from combining the frontal and quarter panel when overlaying fabric to these areas as 1 piece, the resulting area looks like a horshoe when viewed from above, hence "horshoe"
Seamless Front (Quarter, Frontal & Toebox)- this is the area resulting from combinig the quarter panel, frontal, and toebox when overlaying fabric to these areas as 1 piece, hence "seamless front".

Now let's take a closer look at the Control Panel and how it relates to the Panel Selector Wheel. The Control Panel can be broken down into 6 specific areas:
1. "You are on the ..." Panel Indicator - let's you know what is active on  the Panel Selector Wheel
2. Customization selector - Once you select a panel adding a Treatment will affect the entire panel, or you can select which component of that panel you want to customize or single out. ChefLogic only displays components that are relevant to the panel you selected.
3. Add Effects selector - You can add either interference effects (light bending finish coat that creates a color-shift effect) or 3M reflective effects (reflects light like 3M flash) on top of any colored or uncolored panel.
4. Colors selector - Choose from 40 colors or wipe the current panel or component clean by clicking "BASE Color"
5. Metallics selector - Choose from either 3 metallic paints or 23K guilded gold leafing. Selecting "BASE color" will also wipe any of these treatments off the selected panel.
6. Fabric and Choose A Fabric drop-down slider - Click on "Choose A Fabric" and slide left and right to scroll through and choose any 1 of 9 Essential 1800 Artworks to be applied to the selected panel. Use "BASE Color" to clear off selected panel.

Here are some tips to aide you in easily creating a masterpiece of your own.
1. When trying to add fabric to a panel, make sure that all components of that panel have been returned to "BASE Color" in order for ChefLogic to allow the addition of fabric. ChefLogic programming on the GourmetKickzCreator will automatically prevent the addition of elements that conflict with already selected modifications. ChefLogic is meant to simulate sneaker customization, so picture each operation as if you were actually working the sneaker in my Kitchen.
For instance, if you customize the Swoosh with Red Paint, Black Constrast Stitching, a Black Contrast Edge, and add 3M, but you then change your mind and want to add Alderete Fabric to the swoosh, you must first return the Swoosh Treatment to "Base Color", the Swoosh Contrast Stitching to "Base Color" , and Select "NO" for 3M BEFORE ChefLogic will let you add Fabric to the Swoosh.
2. When working with the Logos on the heel, be aware that you can turn these Logos ON or OFF by selecting the ON/OFF option that appears at the top/right of the Control Panel when either logo is chosen from the Panel Selection Wheel
3. When seeking to add fabric to larger combined areas like Seamless Front or Horshoe be sure that all components of the panels that make up these larger "seamless" areas are returned to "BASE Color" as ChefLogic will prevent you from being able to select these larger "seamless" areas from the Panel Selection Wheel if the underlying panels have already been modified.
For instance, if you customize the quarter panel with "Wasabi" paint, you will notice that the entire outer ring of the Panel Selector Wheel (except for the logos) will dim and become unavailable. This is because ChefLogic recognizes that the Quarter Panel is a part of Seamless Rear, Horshoe, and Seamless Front. To be able to utilize these larger "seamless" areas, simply return the quarter panel back to "BASE Color".

I think this brief tutorial is enough to get you going on Design. So i will stop here and just talk breifly about the User Gallery. In order for your design to be seen by others you must save your design. Purchasing a pair of GourmetKickz from the Creator also requires that you save your design. However, once a design has been saved and added to the Gallery, you may purchase that design from the Gallery at any time.
When viewing the Gallery you can sort the sneakers by Date, Name, and Shoe Name. When you click on an individual shoe, a larger view of the shoe will appear with the 3D rotator. From here you can email your 3D design, embed a 3D widget of your design on your site or myspace, re-design the sneaker using it as an inspiration/starting point, start fresh on a base sneaker or you can put me to work by buying your design via paypal.
